Saunders helped lead the Hawklets to a pair of rivalry victories.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rockhurst basketball student-athlete Hueston Saunders ’26 was selected the Nadler’s Meats Week 9 Rockhurst Athletics Athlete of the Week.
Saunders’ steady play in the post helped the Basketball Hawklets to rivalry wins over Bishop Miege and Shawnee Mission East. The senior scored a career-high 18 against the Stags and then posted 14 against the Lancers. He also averaged six rebounds and three assists in the two victories. For the season, Hueston is third on the team in scoring (10.8 PPG), second in rebounds (5.3 RPG), and third in assists (2.7 APG).
The Hawklets hit the road on Friday (Feb. 6) for a game at Columbia Rock Bridge at 7:30 p.m.
